About the site
I first thought about making a proper website in 2023, inspired by all my friends and online acquaintances who had their own little webcorner. In truth, I'd been wanting to have a website for a while, but wanting to have a website and wanting to make a website are different beasts, I feel. In 2024, I started working on something more concrete, which is when this truly began to take form. Unfortunately, the last few years have been quite a rollercoaster for me, so it's been much more slow going than I would have liked. I think Lysandre would appreciate the tenacity, though..!
The primary goal of this website is to have somewhere to dump all things Lysandre that I have somewhere either already on the web or inside my head, so it can be found easily by me and others. The secondary goal of this website is just to show off my love for Pokémon X&Y, the games that have changed my life for the better, and Lysandre, the fictional character whom I told my gender therapist about only for him to confidently declare that this all had to do with my gender.
Was he wrong? Probably not.
This website was crafted painstakingly by me, who hasn't made a website since his Neopets petpage days, using resources and templates provided by others, which are credited in my Links page. Most of the content inside it, unless otherwise specified, was either made by me or is official Pokémon material. All opinions shared here are my own and are not meant to be taken as gospel or used to shame others. My goal is simply to share things I care about.
I've been trying my best to make sure everything is responsive, and will endeavor to make sure it is accessible, too. I'd appreciate any feedback you might have about that. Quick FAQ
Q: Will there be fanworks on this site?
A: Outside of what I share through the Resources page, and, of course, using my art for headers and/or banners, I currently have no plans to host fanfic or fanart on this site, mine or otherwise. This could change someday, but for now, that's how it is.
Q: Will you cover Lysandre and/or Team Flare's portrayal outside of gameverse, e.g. in the anime or the manga?
A: I'd like to at least touch upon it in the future, but I'd have to (re)familiarize myself first. The main focus of this site will always be the mainline series of games, though.
Q: Will other Pokémon X&Y characters be covered on this site, or is it only Lysandre?
A: Lysandre will always be my primary focus, but there will be subpages for the other Team Flare members eventually, and other characters I consider significant to Lysandre (*cough* Sycamore *cough*). Actually, one of my future plans when it comes to meta is to finally write a proper, full-length shipping manifesto.
Q: Can I volunteer information for you to post on here? Can you publish my meta?
A: Information you think I might not be privy to is always welcome! In particular, due to me largely avoiding the fandom, I don't know as much about the recent teraleak stuff as you might think. I've gathered some of it, but if there's beta/concept X&Y stuff I missed, I'd love to know about it. I'm also up for sharing things on the resources page like graphics for other people to use. Other than that, right now, I'm only looking to share my own homemade meta on here.
Q: Will this site ever be available in other languages?
A: Yes! Making a French version of the site is on my roadmap. I'd just prefer to be mostly done with the English version first.
